An extraordinary session of the council’s Overview and Scrutiny Management Board has been convened to consider the Bristol Arena Value for Money reports compiled by KPMG.
Board members will meet to discuss the details of the reports and formulate comments to pass on to Cabinet ahead of its July meeting.
This session will be split across at least two meetings to ensure councillors have sufficient time to consider public statements and questions on the reports and engage in detailed discussion on their contents.
The first meeting will consider statements and questions from 4:15pm on Monday 18 June. Councillors will also agree at this stage how many further meetings will be required. The second meeting will begin at 4pm on Wednesday 20 June and will be for councillors to discuss the reports and consider the board’s feedback to Cabinet.
All meetings will be held in the Council Chamber of City Hall and are open to the public. Anyone wishing to view the meeting but unable to attend can watch a live webcast by visiting https://bit.ly/2l5SggY.
Copies of the reports are available online along with the meeting agenda https://bit.ly/2sPaCa7.
Members of the public are invited to submit a question or a statement specifically relating to the Value for Money reports by emailing democratic.services@bristol.gov.uk. The meetings are not making any decisions about the arena location, but are scrutinising the value for money reports. Only questions and statements on the reports will be considered as part of the meeting on 18 June. Statements about preferred venues will only be referred to the July cabinet meeting.
The deadline for questions and statements to be submitted for this meeting is 12 noon on Friday 15 June.
