Road closures are scheduled at Temple Gate for overnight works from today, Wednesday 30 October, until Friday 15 November.
The majority of the works are expected to complete by Friday 8 November but contingency has been built into the programme in the event of further weather-related delays and to allow removal of the temporary traffic signals.
Overnight road closures (8pm-6am) will be in place at Temple Gate to complete the scheduled works for the scheme. Closures have been programmed to complete work to install anti-skid surfacing that has been hampered by recent wet weather.
These works mark the substantial end to the scheme and contractors will then focus on identifying and correcting defects.
Councillor Kye Dudd, Cabinet Member for Transport said:
“Unfortunately the recent wet weather has hampered progress for the final elements of the project pushing the end of planned works into November.
“I appreciate additional night closures are frustrating for those living and working in the area, as well as those regularly travelling through. Like the rest of the city, I’m greatly looking forward to these works finishing and delivering better public transport facilities and improved spaces for those walking and cycling.”
Pedestrian routes will not be affected during closures and access to local businesses will be maintained.
Information on bus service diversions can be found on Travelwest.
