Will my personal data be sent outside the UK?
No personal information is routinely sent or held outside the UK. Should the transfer of personal information outside the UK become necessary, it will only take place if permitted by law, and then only where there are appropriate safeguards in place to protect the data.

Personal information
Our legal basis for using your personal information are:
- Article 6(a) of the UK GDPR – consent; this specifically refers to our monthly newsletter (where shared with you electronically) and, where consent is required to do so, for communicating with you about specific projects, and audio, video and photography use when a media release form has been signed. We also obtain your consent to undertake any surveys.
- Article 6(b) of the UK GDPR – contracts; if the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract with the you, or to take steps at your request to enter into a contract.
- Article 6(c) of the UK GDPR – legal obligation; where the processing is necessary for us to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject;
- Article 6(e) of the UK GDPR – public task; if the processing is necessary to perform a specific task set out in law in the public interest, or is necessary ‘in the exercise of official authority,’ and your public function or powers have a clear basis in law .
- Article 6(f) of the UK GDPR – legitimate interests – the processing is necessary for the legitimate interests of BTQ or of a third party, unless your rights override those legitimate interests.
How long we will keep your personal information?
We will hold this information for as long as it is needed, or if we are required to do so by law. In practice this means that your personal information may be retained for the relevant period listed below.
The period of time that we will hold this data for will depend solely on its relevance to our responsibilities related to the Project, namely delivering and communicating about the regeneration of the Bristol Temple Quarter area. The data we hold will be regularly reviewed and, when it is no longer needed, it will be deleted or archived in accordance with UK GDPR. In particular, unless there is another reason for which we need to retain relevant details:
- our newsletter list and stakeholder lists will be reviewed every three years. All those who do not re-consent will be deleted.
- Personal data necessary for performing contracts will only be retained for the period of time necessary for those contracts and will not be used for any other purposes.
- IP address data will be retained for 38 months.
- Photography, videography and/or audio of you will be retained for three years, in line with the Media Release policy (and only if a Media Release form has been signed by you or a guardian)
- Where we hold your data for communicating with you about specific projects, it will only be retained for the durations of those projects.
- Surveys: Personal data collected during the survey will be deleted upon the completion of the survey analysis and will not be stored or used for any other purpose.
